14 New Startups Enter The Unicorn Club With Funding Surpassing $10 Billion In Q1

New Delhi, April 11 (KNN) From January to March 2022, 14 new startups entered the unicorn club and funding crossed the $10 billion mark.

The unicorn club is made up of startups with a total valuation of $1 billion and with the latest addition, the total number of unicorns stands at 84.

According to a report by PwC India, this happened for the third consecutive quarter ending in March 2023 with USD 10 billion from 334 financing deals.

The software-as-a-service (SaaS) sector accounted for the largest share with five startups becoming unicorns in the first quarter.

Speaking to the press, Amit Nawka, the consultancy’s startup leader, said that although the global economic environment has uncertain factors, domestic startups continue to attract capital, especially at the capital stage. of growth.

He emphasized how discussions around corporate governance are becoming mainstream as the startup ecosystem continues to grow.
