A “golden day” planned for the elite sale of the NI Limousin Cattle Club

There are 37 animals waiting for the sale to be held on Saturday August 20, all personally selected by renowned Harrison and Hetherington auctioneer, James Little.

On a visit to Northern Ireland in the early summer, James was very impressed with the quality of the cattle he saw and believes this is a rare and exciting event for buyers, with cattle from some of the best herds in Northern Europe.

With nine elite males and 28 elite females, there is a unique opportunity to purchase a female to start a herd or a bull to take one to the next level.

Among the cattle on offer are champions of the summer show circuit, including the 2022 Balmoral Show Supreme Champion.

The judge of the day is Craig Ridley, owner of the famous Haltcliffe Limousin herd and current president of the British Limousin Cattle Society.

Craig paid tribute to the hard work and effort of the families involved, which resulted in the wealth of bloodlines in the catalog, producing some of the best Limousin genetics.

NI Limousin Cattle Club President Brian McAuley said: “This sale will bring together some exceptional cattle.

“It’s really a question of quality rather than quantity.

“Our breeders are competing at the highest level, as was again seen at the recent sale in Carlisle, where breeders from Northern Ireland won three of the four best prizes of the day, breaking the calf prize record .
