Bangor Gymnastics Club appeals for donations to repair flood damage

BANGOR Gymnastics Club has asked the public for donations to repair the damage caused to its premises by the floods.

On Thursday June 23, a pipe burst at its base on the Llandygai Industrial Estate causing “huge damage” to the gymnasium.

A page has been set up on fundraising website GoFundMe where people can donate, with nearly £2,250 raised against the £25,000 target that has been set.

A post on the GoFundMe page read: “On June 23, we discovered a devastating blow, with a burst pipe causing extensive damage to the gymnasium.

“The water traveled from the front door to the rear area just before the bars.

“As you can imagine, we are devastated and know our gymnasts will be too.

“Rest assured that we are working behind the scenes to reopen the gymnasium.

“The floor has suffered extensive water damage – and will be the biggest problem for us to be able to reopen.

“We are raising funds to cover additional costs not covered by insurance.”
