Early Bird Kiwanis Club of Decatur Donates Funds to Local Nonprofits | Education

DECATUR — The Early Bird Kiwanis Club of Decatur announced Sunday that it will distribute financial contributions to six nonprofit organizations to support activities and programs for young people, consistent with their mission to “Serve the Children of the World.”
• Good Samaritan Inn, $500, providing meals for children in the Decatur community.
• Baby Talk, $500, provides age-appropriate books to give to children during program activities.
• Children’s Museum of Illinois, $300, funding for thematic books distributed to children during the Storybook Shindig event.
COMMERCIAL ACHIEVEMENTS: Bateman, HSHS St. Mary’s, Decatur Memorial, Busey
• Salvation Army, $250, supporting various programs offered to children in the community.
• Kiwanis International Children’s Fund, $125, supporting grants to community clubs that want to change children’s lives with a focus on health care, education and leadership development.
• Camp Grenada, $125, providing snacks and beverages to children with diabetes while at camp in Allerton Park.
