Inverness City Boxing Club adds shows to its schedule

Two more shows have been added to the boxing calendar in Inverness for the first quarter of 2022.

George Stewart, Callum Turnbull and Adian Williamson are turning pro under the guidance of Inverness City Boxing Club head coach Laurie Redfern.

Subject to Scottish government restrictions to tackle the omicron variant of Covid-19, the Inverness City Boxing Club has announced a club show and professional show to take place in the capital of the Highlands.

First, the Ironworks will host a club tournament on Friday, January 21.

Then, a little further, Saturday March 5, three of the club’s best athletes will step into the ring for a professional show at the Drumossie Hotel.

It promises to be a complete moment for Inverness City as a whole and in particular head coach Laurie Redfern, who has formed the trio of George Stewart, Adian Williamson and Callum Turnbull since the age of 10.

All three made the leap into the pro arena last summer, signing with Glenrothes-based promotion of Stevie Maguire.

Between them, Stewart, Williamson and Turnbull have over 100 amateur fights on their records, and all three have won gold at the International Box Cup in Cyprus ahead of the pandemic, so the future should be bright for them. .
