KCCA stands in successful defense of NIC title

East African Netball Club Championship 2022:
Final: May 14, 2022:
- National Insurance Corporation (NIC) v Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA)
- At Kamwokya Community Sports Ground, Kampala (2:00 p.m.)

- National Insurance Company (NIC) 47-37 Tamiseni
- Kampala Capital Authority (KCCA) 44-43 jails
It is official that the 2022 East Africa Netball Club Championship will remain in Uganda.
This comes after two Ugandan clubs Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) and defending champions National Insurance Corporation (NIC) qualified for the grand final.
To make the final mark, NIC defeated Tamiseni of Tanzania 47-37 in a thrilling contest.
NIC dominated the entire game from the first to the last quarter.
During the second semi-final, Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) edged out rivals Prisons 44-43 in typical fashion.
Prisons led the first quarter 13-10 but KCCA recovered to lead a 4-goal halftime lead; 25-21.
The match remained a close contest and at the final whistle, KCCA won by a 44-43 goal to book a place in the final against NIC.
The final will take place on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at the Kamwokya Community Sports Fields.
Two leading goal shooters for each side; Stella Oyella (NIC) and Muhameed M. Hanisha (KCCA) will stand out in the match.
These will definitely define the course of the final.
Other important players will be NIC captain Joan Nampungu (defender), veteran striker Rachael Nanyonga and KCCA’s Shadiah Ssegujja Nassanga.
In the classification matches; Uhamiaji will face JKT Mbweni in the morning kick off at 9am.
Tamiseni will face Prisons for the third-place play-off at 10:30 a.m.
In the men’s match, Kampala University (KU) will play WOB at 12 noon ahead of the grand final of the tournament.
