LAHS Interact Club and Rotary Club to Host Peace Glow Saturday at Overlook Park – Los Alamos Reporter

LAPS PRESS RELEASE

On Saturday, April 16, the Rotary Club of Los Alamos and the Rotary Interact Club of Los Alamos High School will host a Peace Glow this Saturday, beginning at 7 p.m. at Overlook Park in White Rock. This event aims to raise funds to fund relief efforts in Ukraine and surrounding countries.

The Peace Glow will take place on the Spirio soccer fields. Blue and yellow glow sticks can be purchased for $5. From 7:40 p.m. with the sunset, everyone will form a heart in the colors of the Ukrainian flag. The gathering and heart formation will be filmed by drone and a photo will be sent along with all funds raised to the Rotary International Disaster Relief Fund to show Rotary and Interact’s support for Ukraine.

Using these funds, grants providing money; skills; and resources such as water, food, medicine and clothing will be donated to Rotary clubs in Ukraine, Belarus, Romania, Republic of Moldova, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Belarus and Slovakia to help with the Ukrainian crisis.

Interact club members hope to see you all at Overlook Park next Saturday and thank you for your support.
