Lawn bowling club donates $1,000 to Parkinson’s disease (9 photos)

The local club staged their last fun tournament of the year this week, following a successful charity breakfast to help Parkinson’s research

The last fun tournament of the year took place on September 7 at the Orillia Lawnbowling Club, sponsored by The Co-operators Insurance. Representatives
Mitchell Shaw and Michael McLaughlin were on hand to present the awards and try their hand at lawn bowls.

Everyone had a great time, with the winners being the team of Barry Holloway and Jim Hoover.

The last open tournament of the year will be on September 10, sponsored by Mr. Appliance – Orillia.

Among other events involving club members, Greg Irvine won the district singles novice title! Greg will now compete at the provincial championships.

Additionally, the team of Robb Barsevich, Brian Minns and Barry Holloway placed third in the senior men’s district event.

In August, the club held a very successful charity breakfast, with proceeds of over $1,000 going to Parkinson’s research.
