Rotary Club of Clemmons event brings holiday cheer to hundreds of kids

Members of the Clemmons Rotary Club and others hope about 300 children in East Winston-Salem will always remember their night at the Tanglewood Park Festival of Lights on Tuesday night. “It’s very encouraging first of all to know that there are people taking care of them,” said Bill McClain, Executive Director of the Girl Guides program. The guide program is located in the eastern part of Winston-Salem. -school services, Saturday academies and summer programs, “he said. McClain said once again that this year the Rotary Club of Clemmons and many different sponsors have been working to help around 300 kids to enjoy the magic of the holidays. “We want to be very involved in our community,” said Bruce Bullings, president of the Rotary Club of Clemmons. The event is called “Hand in Hand”. McClain said the kids had free transportation to Agape Faith Church in Clemmons, along with great entertainment and delicious food. one of our partners, ”he said. After the Christmas program was over, the kids boarded the bus and headed to Tanglewood Park where they could experience the Festival of Lights. It was an experience McClain hopes they will never forget. They can’t dream if they can’t see anything and it gives them the opportunity to be exposed to something outside of their community, ”he said. These children were also able to experience the Festival of Lights at Tanglewood Park.

“First of all, it’s very encouraging to know that there are people out there looking out for them,” said Bill McClain, Executive Director of the Guide Program.

McClain said once again that this year the Rotary Club of Clemmons and many different sponsors are working to help about 300 children enjoy the magic of the holidays.

The event is called “Hand in hand”. McClain said the kids get free transportation to Agape Faith Church in Clemmons first, along with great entertainment and great food.

“They have a gracious dinner and right now they are in the middle of a Christmas program which is run by the Agape Faith Church, which is one of our partners,” he said.

After the Christmas program is over, the kids board the buses and head to Tanglewood Park where they can experience the Festival of Lights. An experience McClain hopes they will never forget.
