“As his career as a business owner in the insurance industry grew, Mike’s generosity to many community clubs within our community also increased, including Pakuranga United Rugby Club.

“PIC Insurance Brokers has been our naming rights sponsor of the club since 2019 and, just before Mike’s passing, signed a new term as title sponsor.

“Mike’s support for rugby in particular is seen in his sponsorship of the county, Auckland and Waikato rugby unions and the Chiefs and Blues Super Rugby franchises.

“Our special thoughts are with his wife Robyn, his children Daniel, Rachael and Kristen and the extended Garner whanau.”
