The Lake Houston Country Club is open to the public this weekend, raising money for charity

Pack those golf clubs, throw a few extra tennis balls in the practice bag and get ready for a weekend of golf, tennis and pickleball at the Kingwood Clubs.

Each year, the country club opens its doors to the community for the annual Charity Classic fundraiser, but there’s more to this event than raising funds.

CELEBRATE COMMUNITY: Nextdoor wants residents of Kingwood to meet their neighbors – but this time in person

“Opening our club to the community for this event has a positive impact on the lives of so many people, especially for our neighbors who need emergency financial assistance. It’s also a time to show our club and excellent course conditions,” said Patrick Pettit, managing director of the Clubs of Kingwood.

Fundraisers provide a glimpse into life for Clubs and, at the same time, provide financial assistance to Humble Area Assistance Ministries and ClubCorp’s Employee Partners Care Foundation.

“At our Charity Classic event, our partner members and staff work with sponsors to show the Clubs of Kingwood’s commitment to enriching the lives of the communities we support,” he said.

Here are the details for the Charity Classic and some other fun opportunities coming up around Lake Houston.
