WDIV’s 4Frenzy doesn’t just showcase sports, we also focus on clubs, colleges and the performing arts.
And this week, our Kim DeGiulio shows us a program at Eastpointe High School giving students insight into different careers and hobbies you don’t always learn about during a normal school day.
It’s called C2 Pipeline Club and is a college and career readiness program that integrates STEM into a hands-on, project-based learning environment focused on health careers.
Eastpointe HS is one of 25 schools to offer the C2 Pipeline program through Wayne State University. Club teacher Sylvia Marburger says she has the best job in the world supervising the class.
“It gives them an opportunity that they might not otherwise have,” Marburger said.
Students also learn fashion design, coding, 3D printing and more.
“They’ll take the skills they learn, the design skills, the interpersonal skills and the confidence of knowing themselves and knowing they’ve tried things, knowing whether they like them or not,” added Marburger.
